E ach of the costumed tour guides embodies a character, adding a special perspective to the basic information about the castle. Thus, for instance, the lady-in-waiting enriches the description of the luxurious interior of the queens’ suite with information that provides a fuller picture of the life of women in the Middle Ages, while the knight draws attention to the military aspects. Beside guided tours, visitors can get to know the castle individually, helped by interactive tablets as well as touchable medieval period furniture and tools.
Guided tours start every 30 minutes from the starting point in the Upper castle yard.

Children visiting the Castle of Diósgyőr know that medieval walls hide secrets, so they explore the castle with gleaming eyes to find the treasure that it has to offer to them. We wish to maintain this natural curiosity with our program with which students can obtain knowledge by experience and can immerse themselves in careless playing and treasure hunting. The aim of the session is to find King Louis the Great’s treasure, hidden in a mysterious corner of the castle. However, children have to face numerous challenges on the way to the treasure, proving their knowledge, aptness, and clear heart. One variant of the program is adapted to the age of kindergarten groups, and the other is adapted to the age of primary school groups.
